What is Hospice?
Hospice is a philosophy of care and it is individualized through each person’s own journey. Sunset Hospice aspires to treat the person rather than the disease and focuses on quality of life rather than curative treatment during the remaining time one has. It surrounds the patient and family with a team of hospice professionals who not only address physical distress but also emotional and spiritual issues by providing support, comfort, and dignity.
Hospice services are delivered wherever the patient calls home. If you wish to remain in your family home, we will come to you. If you are living in an assisted living facility or nursing home, we will partner with the facility to provide the same personal touches that we would provide to patients in their homes.
Hospice care DOES NOT mean you are giving up. It does mean that your goals are changing and the focus is on comfort and quality time for whatever time is left on your personal journey.
